I would like to have a relationship where my horse chooses to be with me. In order for this to happen I must be a safe place. I now realize that being a safe place means accessing all the parts of myself. Sometimes being soft and fuzzy but sometimes being a warrior. Sometimes being the one who follows but sometimes standing up to lead. If they're looking for reassurance let them come in but if they're looking to be a bully, setting a boundary. This means being aware enough to understand what they need, and what I need in any given moment. Isn't this the same with our human relationships as well?
